When used as a flush feed on grazing, this feed should be provided from three weeks before the mating season and continued until at least two weeks into the mating season. Sheep should receive between 750 g and 1 000 g per day, depending on grazing or veld conditions and the body condition of the ewes. As a ewe ration, it should be fed from the last four weeks of pregnancy through to six weeks after the onset of lactation to support and stimulate milk production. A daily intake of 250 g to 500 g per sheep is generally adequate, with the exact amount adjusted according to grazing conditions and the condition of the ewes.
