Drip Stop is a non-toxic, water-based rubberised bitumen compound that offers excellent flexibility, making it ideal for use on fishponds, reservoirs, flat roofs, foundation walls, and most roofing details. It must be applied together with a waterproofing membrane, and on porous surfaces, a priming coat consisting of a 50% dilution of product and water is recommended. For areas subject to permanent ponding, allow seven rain-free days for curing, noting that drying time will vary depending on ambient temperature and humidity. Drip Stop should not be overcoated with acrylic waterproofing systems or acrylic paints. Where exposed to UV rays, it is advisable to apply Alu-Coat Silver (a bituminous aluminium paint) as a protective overcoat. The product is not suitable for areas exposed to negative water pressure, nor is it recommended for swimming pools or fibreglass applications. Clean equipment with water while the product is still wet, and use thinners, solvent, or petrol once it has dried. The compound is black in colour, and compatibility should always be confirmed before applying it over existing, unknown waterproofing products.
